What We Do

Soccer Writers Ireland is a representative body with a membership working in written, broadcast and electronic media.

SWI liaises regularly with clubs and governing bodies in a bid to improve access, media facilities and relationships - and to represent the interests of all our members.

Our work also includes representation in lobbying football clubs and governing bodies regarding access and facilities at venues, along with developing a general code of conduct between the football media and the professional game.

We also offer assistance in resolving any disputes that involve our members in their relationship with clubs/governing bodies.

Members are entitled to vote in our Player of the Month and annual Personality of the Year votes, raise issues and concerns with the SWI executive committee over press facilities and access and have a say in the policy making of the association.

Anyone who wishes to to raise a concern, flag an issue or apply to join SWI can contact any committee member who will be happy to assist.
